Dr. Lyu obtained his BSc from Zhejiang University of Technology in 2012, followed by an MPhil from Wuhan University in 2014, and a PhD in Environmental Engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) in 2018. Prior to his affiliation with HKBU, he held various positions at PolyU from September 2017 to January 2023, including Research Associate, Postdoctoral Fellow, Research Fellow, and Research Assistant Professor. Throughout his career, he has focused on air quality research, specifically studying atmospheric reactive organics and secondary air pollution. To date, Dr. Lyu has authored over 70 scientific papers published in renowned international journals such as One Earth, Environmental Science & Technology, and Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres. His research has received a total citation count of 3,100+ and an H-index of 30. He has successfully led several competitive research grants, including 2 RGC/GRF, 1 RGC/CRF (co-PI), 1 PPR and 1 NSFC/Young Scientist Fund. Dr. Lyu actively contributes to the scientific community as a Youth Editor for the journal The Innovation, an Editorial Board Member for the journal Frontiers in Sustainable Cities, and as a member of the Australia-China Center for Air Quality Science and Management.
